Winter Count Na.702.30 This winter count was made by the Eastern Shoshone in the year 1900. This winter count is a buffalo hide with some hair still intact on one side. The other side is tanned and decorated. This particular hide was cut and resewn down the spine. The scene painted on the buffalo shows three Indians with rifles on horseback hunting a buffalo while another Indian skins a dead buffalo. The winter count showed a significant event for every year that it was used.
