Gloss: In 1903 Remington signed an exclusive contract with Collier's magazine to produce works in color on various historic themes related to the American frontier. As part of that work, he initiated a series of eleven paintings for Collier's in 1905 which was titled The Great Explorers. Radisson and Groseilliers is the only painting which remains from the original set.
