Coe | High pommel and cantle of antlers, and tops are slightly flat. Upright frame attached to wood slats for base of saddle, and all covered with rawhide applied when wet then stretched, and sewn with sinew making a tight casing This is all covered with pigment. A prong is attached to pommel. One piece of rawhide added to wooden slats on both sides with loop of leather tie through saddle body. Commercial leather strap with buckle attached to back of one side, and rawhide strap with metal ring on other side, attached with hide tie through hole in body of saddle. Coe | Four (4) commercial bells, three (3) are 3 ¾" across the top; fourth is larger at 4 ¾" across the top of the bell. All are attached to a heavy, dark leather piece that is divided into three sections. The bells go through the first layer, 2 1/8"W, are all attached to one continuous layer that's ¾"W. The third layer on bottom is also 2 1/8"W. The top layer has buckle and 6"L riveted belt piece between the two sets of bells. The leather is sewn together on the ends. Coe | Rawhide sections divided into nine (9) segments of 7 rows on each of top six sections, and 11, 9 and 9 rows on bottom three sections (L to R). Styled like hair pipe necklace. Each of the individual sections is wrapped in red, purple and cream colored porcupine quills in geometric designs. Top of 6 of the sections has small brass tacks embellishing. Bottom of each of the 3 bottom sections are strung with cotton and thread and have metal cone with purple dyed feather fluff. Coe | Woman's belt made of dark, thick commercial tanned hide, partially beaded and brass tacks. Each long side (½" W) is outlined in medium blue seed beads, sewn vertically. Three (3) segments of geometric designs (right and left is 5 ½" W - center design is 5"W) outer blocks in rose, outlines in white, two (2) stepped triangle boxes in dark blue and yellow on either side of center red box with green square cross in center. Four (4) remaining sections are in three (3) horizontal rows of brass tacks. Coe | Cow bone hair pipes, six (6) sections with up 11 hair pipes in top 4 sections, and 29 in lower 2 sections. Top four (4) sections are separated in middle to allow room to be placed over head. All pipes strung vertically on tanned hide strips, heavy tanned hide separating sections. Blue and green glass tubes beads strung on cotton thread into a woven pattern for top neck tie, green/red multi-colored beads intermixed, tied off with teal ribbon at back of neck. 3" dia. shell at top of 5th section. Coe | Two pieces commercial tanned hide in box shape, seamed both sides and slits cut through top portion for drawstring top. Multicolored single strand seed beads looped across top edge. Recto and verso fully beads, along with strands of beads on bottom as fringe in horizontal stripes: trans pink, 3 single white, translucent dark green, 3 single white, black. Sides are single beaded in peacock blue. Both sides are beaded with black white box along perimeter. One side has two (2) stepped triangles (inverted) on top and bottom and two (2) on side/center. In trans red, trans clear, dark blue, trans gold, dark blue white. The side and top triangles have red/white striped boxes along outer steps. From the bottom triangles are two box striped lines in dark green and white running upward to two red and white striped flags on green poles. Opposite side has block diamond in center in trans dark green, white with trans red center and center square is multicolored. Coe | Tanned hide "pillow" would have been stuffed with deer hair (now emptied), four corners are overlaid with cotton cloth pieces (4 x 5 ¾"), embroidered with glass seed beads. One design on two, same design different colors on other two: 1) peacock blue background, two (2) stepped triangles in white outer, medium blue and pink center meeting at top with yellow oblong box in the center. Both long sides edged in red white heart and white triangles intersecting. 2) peacock blue background, same stepped triangle design but outer in yellow, medium blue and white center. Stitched in place with series single metallic beads along the perimeter. Fringe attached to each corner on the edge - loop beaded tassels in pink and medium blue on two; light blue on other two sections. Coe | Two pieces of light colored commercial hide sewn together in keyhole shape. Short hide tie through two small holes at top for carrying. Entire perimeter is beaded in bead stand up style in white with red areas interspersed. Fully beaded on one side in pink seed bead majority, outline of circle is single dark blue. Interior of circle has four (4) pointed designs dark blue with six (6) yellow leaves (?) each triangle and thin turquoise line in center. Top of keyhole has geometric line design in dark blue connected to diamond shape with red center. Opposite side is plain light colored hide, with two rows of beads around the perimeter. First is turquoise blue and pink in V'd; second row is yellow with dark blue in toothed pattern. Coe | High pommel and cantle, of wood covered reversed with tops carved to flat horizontal discs, from which hang cotton canvas flaps with painted hide fronts, edged in blue cotton cloth, with fringe and bead dangles on the bottom edge. The discs of pommel and cantle have several beaded danglers, and top edges have beadwork in blocks of dark green and white pony beads. On the flaps, hide is painted yellow, and the bead design in three (3) V'd horizontal stripes in dark green, white, and red translucent pony beads. The edges of the panels are light blue, light green and translucent red pony beads. Dangles have translucent dark green and white beads with small circle shell beads on the ends. Pommel's bead danglers are half green and half red. Cantle has medium green beads with red on lower portion with assorted disk or shell beads in blue and green on the ends. Upright frame attached to wood slat side pieces, and the entire thing covered with wet rawhide, stretched and then dries to tight casing sewn with thread. The side slats have fine hide fringe additionally. Coe | Cow bone hairpipes, two (2) sections with 45 pieces each. Strung vertically through tanned hide strips through dark, heavy tanned hide pieces - two (2) per section for a total of 4. Two sections are separated vertically by 43 rows of brass and heishi beads - on same leather strips. Two (2) cobalt blue glass beads are tied on the perimeter of each side of every leather strip and heavy tanned hide section. Three (3) leather strips around neck are strung with intermixed cobalt blue glass and brass beads. Ornament at top portion/center of: abalone disk strung with 2 elk teeth, 2 quill wrapped leather strips with 4 copper colored metal cones and yellow dyed horsehair, and commercial made red, white and blue vertically striped ribbon. Attached half way down, center is 3" L carved bone or tooth. Added to bottom is hide bound, quillwork strip with base of rawhide in red, cream and light purple in geometric design. Piece of tanned hide looped through bottom of handle portion, and strung with large round glass beads in red, dark green, light blue, dark blue, light green with an elk tooth, and trailing of tanned hide. Round tanned hide disk, beaded in faceted glass seed beads; majority opalescent with dark blue perimeter and 5 point star in blue faceted with center circle of red, and inner circle of dark green faceted. Verso has round dance round mirror attached at base. Bottle has a beaded medallions added to center on recto and verso in: majority white with henna colored seed bead arrows pointing top to bottom and yellow side to side - meeting in middle with blue circle and yellow center dot. Coe | Tanned moose hide, stuff, embroidered with glass seed beads onto hide piece, then attached to four corners. White background with abstract floral and leaf designs in dark blue, dirty yellow, red, deep red, light blue, dark green and yellow - all sinew sewn. On hanging flaps are geometric checked diamonds and checkered rows in same seed bead colors with addition of rose and black. Designs on two front and two rear corners and flaps are alike. Separate central flap of tanned hide with pinked edges, also overlays sides to cover saddle rings. Flaps are backed in brown calico cloth, have 2 "tongues" of wool cloth outlined in seed beads, edged in same brown calico, all edged in doubled white seed beads. Dangles hang from flaps strung with brown translucent, cut glass tube beads with yarn tassels. Saddle rings attached to both sides and remnants of belly strap from commercial tanned belt leather. Perimeter of edge of disks are small red beads; edge of main body are small yellow and red beads in striped sections. Disks are yellow and partial black beads fanning out from center, with trace of red feather fluff on LP disk. Main body is majority light blue seed beads with five (5) triangular steps or mountains, in red outer steps, black and white center. Intermixed with four (4) red seed "paths going over a hill" - look like two rung ladders.
