Coe | S-curved wood bow painted red on both ends and covered in rows of light blue glass beads. Blue-dyed horse hair tied about 15" from one end with turquoise yarn. About 19" from other end a narrow strand of turquoise felt is wrapped about 3" wide with one bell coming from center attached to bow with hide. Center of bow is wrapped with a wide red wool cloth section that is wrapped around with sting of hide. A 10 ½" braided sweet grass is attached to the bow over the wool cloth at either end with hide string. One end of bow is wrapped 2 ¼" wide with hide string that is painted with red ochre. This end of the bow is rounded out and has a narrow notch cut into the top about3 ½" deep. Also the number "1628"is written with black ink on this end. Coe | Green stained wood, pipe bowl attachment end of base of stem tapers (21" L) down to three tubes, then solid (1 ¼" L) and the mouthpiece. Area immediately above the three tubes and on the solid piece below it, has male mallard feathers attached (approx. 2" L area) with adhesive and string. The three tubes have dyed porcupine quills attached by one stitch sewing line on the verso. The quills create a striped pattern in off-white, black, red, blue, and yellow. Coe | Leather cap completely covered with split ermine hides, split bison horn tipped with horse hair, full ermine tubes hanging from either side of head along with groupings of dyed and natural bird feathers, and yellow & red ribbon streamers. Quill wrapped commander feather from back of cap leading to the red wool cloth and leather full trailer of 28 cloth wrapped eagle feathers tipped in burgundy dyed horse hair and tipped with ermine fluff on both sides of feather. Wood stick tied in approx. half way down the trailer.
