A concurrent interest in precision small bore competitive shooting led Winchester to produce the Model 52. This Model 52 rifle is one of a sample lot made in Winchester's experimental shop, before fixtures were ready for regular production. It was made in 1919 for a shoot at Caldwell, NJ, and placed in the factory collection on October 25, 1921.
