Coe | Bear claw necklace with otter and trailer. Base of necklace made from body of otter and grizzly bear claws. Some claws appear to be wood, may have been added or substituted. Red pigment underside of claws. Brass beads between each claw; white pony beads at base between claws, proper right half; blue pony beads at base between claws, proper left half. Brass buttons on otter's eyes. Otter tail and hind legs, paws, attached on one side of double red trade cloth trailer. Coe | S-curved wood shaft spear with 7 ¾" exposed of metal blade inserted into top notch and wrapped with rawhide. Entire shaft is wrapped in red wool cloth with a strip of navy cloth sewn to it with cotton thread. Cloth is fringed at top and bottom. Thin strip of cream colored cotton cloth is wrapped diagonally around the entire shaft. Bow string attached at either end with cream cloth strip and cotton thread is comprised of twisted red wool, (replaced with red silk (or satin?) ribbon at center), blue cotton, and cream cotton cloth. String is tied to center of wood bow with strips of cream cotton cloth, blue cotton cloth, and red silk (or satin?) ribbon. 3 separate sets of feathers attached to center of bow with hide string. Center set has one feather. Top and bottom set have 2 feathers. Tanned hide looped and secured around top into 2 sections - one painted black, one painted red (ochre). At tied down section, each colored piece is divided in two, with two down eagle feathers tied on with sinew - four (4) total feathers here. Coe | Trailer for bonnet, red wool cloth on recto, plain cotton cloth on verso, machine sewn together. 29 eagle feathers, strung through the fabric pieces, bases wrapped in red wool and pericardium. Each feather has a backing of rawhide strip, wrapped in dyed quills, placed into the wool base with feather fluffs, topped with white horse hair bunches adhered with fabric glue tabs. One large, pieced together, red feather fluff "feather" on the top end. 7 brass bells on the bottom end. Coe | Hand game rattle, ten (10) game sticks, one (1) cloth bag. Rattle wit hoop shaped rawhide head, painted orange with blue lines, yellow dots. Fringed at outer seam. Golden eagle wing and tail feathers, magpie feather, attached to head. Handle wrapped in imitation fur, blue yarn, green cloth strips, multicolored cloth strips tied at center. Brass bells on hide thong along handle. Two (2) eagle feather fluffs and one (1) magpie feather attached to handle end. Five (5) sticks have magpie feathers tied to top with sinew; other five (5) have flicker feathers tied to top with sinew. All have black thread wraps and yellow hide tie, painted yellow at bottom, upper 1/3 red. Upper section consists of square parfleche section folded over; painted design of yellow triangles with blue borders, green triangles with red borders. Two long spikes attached to top of parfleche square; wrapped with red, white blue beads; topped with purple cloth, pink feathers, and pink and green silk ribbon. Bustle trailers, or tails, cut from blue wool cloth, red silk ribbon and white bead edging. Wool dowels inside upper edge of cloth, tied to parfleche with hide thongs. Remnants of smaller eagle feathers tied to trailer cloth with hide ties. Surface colored overall with yellow ochre, dark green zig-zag line runs horizontally from eye area to tail end; green line bisects blue pigment on neck and shoulder areas, black outlines. Blue pigment on tips of horns. Red outline on lower jaw, nose and top of head. Black pigment on hooves. Reverse: blue pigment on neck; same red outlines on jaw, nose, top of head. Two feather fluffs with object; eagle feather fluff with small piece of red feather attached to hide thong strung through top of elk's shoulder; smaller unidentified yellow and brown feather fluff detached, has string loop. Hide loop strung though elk shoulder area.
