Coe | long wood, covered in rawhide sinew sewn, with round rock at end, also wrapped around center in rawhide. Looped handle is red wool cloth, backed in cotton fabric with otter hide on outer portion. Club constructed out of: wood handle, canvas covering handle; beads; elliptical- shaped, sedimentary rock-maul, leather strip for hafting. Short handled war club or dance club. Wood handle is completely covered with canvas material which has rows and rows of beads covering the entire length. Maul is attached to handle with leather hafting. Leather strip encompassing maul is covered with horizontal rows of lazy-stitch beadwork. Wrapped quillwork and yellow horse hair tassle at bottom. Circular shaped granite rock head painted blue and yellow. Remarks: Adolf Spohr collection which was purchased by the BBMA with monies donated by Larry Sheerin.
