Homemade on a split base of brown saddle leather cut to shape and tied together with leather thong ties. Pockets are heavy brown leather partially machine stitched and part stitched with leather thongs. Large outer flaps are of dark brown short haired leather (calf or horse?) machine stitched to black leather lining, round headed studs attached approzimately every 1/2" around outside edge and (1) 5/8" round head stud in center. Seamed at sides and shoulders. Leather thongs at center front. Geometric beadwork design with American flags front and back as well as misc. geometric designs. White bead ground with transluscent green, mustard yellow, rose whiteheart, cobalt blue and bronze metallic beads. Bead edging at armholes worked in cobalt blue and greasy yellow. Edging at neck center front and entire bottom edge worked in rose whiteheart and greasy yellow. Women's hightop -- Brain-tanned buckskin, yellow ochre-dyed uppers and hightops, rawhide soles; sole, ankle and heel seams are sinew sewn; center front seams on tops are thread sewn. (B) has a triangular inset in top of seam. Decorative flap on top is trimmed with a white band of lazy-stitch beadwork with alternating diagonal stripes of greasy yellow bordered with black and clear medium blue and red white hearts. Around ankle on top is a lazy stitch white band with short, wide triangles in red white hearts, greasy yellow and black, the top point of each triangle meets the bottom point of an inverted clear medium blue triangle that also has 2 red white hearts triangles attached to it. Edge of flap and lower edge of top are picot beaded with silver faceted beads. Dark brown hair with white spots, domestic calf(possibly) hide tubes with sinew sewn seams, tied together in two places along upper seam by buckskin thongs also tied into a hide shoulder strap with decorative fringed ends. Bow case opening is bound with gold felt overcase with a buckskin thong, triangular tab at bottom edge of opening is yellow ochre-dyed on the skin side; bottom tapers to an added short fringe of hide. Top flaps painted with 2 red diamonds with green centers, flanked by green triangles with orange centers, all outlined in blue; between diamond and triangles designs on outside are a green triangle flanked by red triangles outlined inside with blue; inner border line is orange, outer border line is green.
