Coe | Small Catlinite pipe bowl, carved wood stem, fringed hide bag containing tobacco. L-shaped pipe bowl, cylindrical base and body.Top of bowl slightly flared. Flat wood stem with carved band and wood not on PL side off of mouthpiece. Stem joint end has (3) three raised, carved rings. Dark brown tanned hide bag with fringe, sides and bottom. Coe | Catlinite pipe bowl and ornate wood stem. Cylindrical bowl tapers to front end of shaft; bowl tapers from base up to top. Plain, smooth bowl with high gloss to stone. Stem has alternating carved spindles in diagonal, concentric and squared carved areas along length. Small, tapered mouthpiece. Red pigment in carved grooves of stem. Pipe and stem joined - cannot be separated. Cylindrical bowl flattened on front and back sides. Tobacco in bowl. Short 8 ½” pipe stem, wood, tapers to angled mouthpiece.
