Coe | Feather bonnet with carved, split horns. Cap is tanned hide with rawhide strap across crown; covered in smaller eagle body feathers. Horns carved into flattened shape, attached to cap, painted on underside with red pigment/paint. Orange fluffs attached to brow band area (recent addition, not original). Proper right temple has tied bunch of eagle body feathers, magpie and owl feathers, two tail feathers, ermines; proper left temple has eagle tail and body feathers, owl feathers, ermines. Coe | Moccasins with quilled designs. Tanned hide uppers with ankle cuff, seam at back of heel, separate tongue. Rawhide soles, sinew sewn. Long tongue, triangular with flat end and quillwork covered rawhide strips at ends, tin cones with red and white feathers. Hide ties inserted in holes in front of ankle cuffs. Instep covered with horizontal rows of red quillwork, triangular stepped box designs natural quillwork with black centers; short row of green quillwork with two drops on sides. Thin band red quillwork around perimeter of moccasin above sole. Three fringes attached at seam of upper and sole at heel.
