Mothers

Human moms and moms in the animal world are pretty darned important. Nineteenth-century French historian Jules Michelet wrote, "How beautifully everything is arranged by Nature; as soon as a child enters the world, it finds a mother ready to take care of it." It's little wonder, then, that so many artists depicted mothers in their works. What characteristics do you see common among the moms in the artwork below?
