Vested interest.

For Native Americans, it wasn't enough to simply create clothing. As this selection of vests indicates, they employed artwork, too. The beading, stitching, and other decorations reflect all kinds of aspects of the natural world from flowers to stars, plus tipis, individuals, horses, arrows, and geometric designs.
