Native Travel

Travel among the Plains Indians varied for many reasons. The women in each tribe were mostly responsible for deciding when they moved. They were also responsible for taking care of camp, setting it up and putting it down. Horses were a huge help to the Plains Indians when they moved. They were used to pack their belongings. Another reason that they would move from place to place was to follow game. A big part of their food source. Buffalo were important to the natives. The buffalo provided much more than food it was very sacred.
