Apache burden basket decorated with cloth, and tin cone danglers, c. 1880. Gift of above source, 1967 catalog no. 483. | Diagonally twined sumac over willow Apache burden or gathering basket with a coiled rim rod Two areas of plain twining over two warps creates a band design. Fabric straps decorated with tin cones hanging from tanned hide strips. There are coils around the around rim missing as well as tin cones (Bryn Potter: 7/2013- AMD).
