Modoc basket of twined weave in natural, brown and black colors, woven in geometric design, n.d. Gift of the above source, 1967 Catalog No. 518. ORIGIN: When - 8-24-89 Jim Haas of Butterfield said this was Karok. (EAB) | Plain twined spruce root Northwest California basket over a willow or hazel foundation. Design is 1/2 twist overlay of bear grass maidenhair fern and woodwardia fern (dyed red with red alder bark) (Bryn Potter: 7/2013- AMD).
