Basket owned by Joseph Henry Sharp

Gift of the Carolyn Reynolds Riebeth Family
Remarks:
Used coiled sedge root on a deergrass bundle foundation cooking basket bowl. The top two bands are a rattlesnake design, the bottom maybe a king snake design. The design is either dyed redbud (makes a very dark red dye) or brackenfern makes a black dye). the basket is too dirty to distinguish the color. the bottom base of the basket is broken from the sides (Bryn Potter: 7/2013- AMD).
