Remarks:
Navajo wedding basket of coiled weave, circular, natural color with darker brown geometric design throughout, c. 1890. Supposedly made by the Southern Ute and traded to the Navajo. Gift of above source, 1967 Catalog No. 494.(this was typed over 999) | Coiled sumac basket over a three rod sumac bundle foundation with a herringbone rim finish and dyed sumac design. The hole in the basket is probably from hanging (Bryn Potter: 7/2013- AMD).
