Apache jar basket with stamped leather handles attached, dark brown with natural color in geometric design, c. 1880. Gift of above source, 1967 catalog no. 485. | Apache coiled willow and devil's claw basket water bottle on a three rod willow foundation and a devil's claw wrapped rim. There are two tooled leather handles laced to the basket with leather strips. This basket is unusual because it is mainly devil's claw with the willow used as the design element. It also appears in Hiawatha (1881) sketches (1889) (Bryn Potter: 7/2013- AMD).
