The Paul Dyck Plains Indian Buffalo Culture Collection, acquired through the generosity of the Dyck family and additional gifts of the Nielson Family and the Estate of Margaret S. Coe
Dark, heavy tanned hide, with attached U shaped flap. Sinew sewn. Verso is plain with two small holes punched through for a belt. Recto is completely beaded (cotton thread) with seed beads in white background, with two (2) stepped triangles (top and bottom) in blue outlined in red and square box in center in green center, red, and blue. Flap is white background with six (6) small blue squares around perimeter and narrow blue cross red center square on upper curve of flap. Metal cones on leather strips strung through and along bottom edge of body and along U shaped of flap's curve. Strip of tanned hide goes through body of bag near top and through the flap as a containment tie. String has one (1) black glass oval bead attached.
