This is a whistle made of eagle bone and *wrapped* with colored porcupine quills. I didn't know you could wrap quills. It also serves to remind us of the many items tagged "triangular" that we could not save.

Eagle bone whistle wrapped with bands of red, green, and purple porcupine quills. Triangular notch cut 2 ¾" from mouth end (larger). Piece of tanned hide colored red fitted around notch, secured with red thread. Quills and hide secured with a seam running length of whistle on underside. |
