Credit line: Gift of The Coe Foundation, Description: Child's moccasin (single). Yellow ochre dyed buckskin upper sinew sewn to thick dark brown commerical leather sole, forked tongue. Beaded strip around bottom, across instep, down vamp and partially up heel seam is lazy stitch beaded with dark blue outlined light blue diamonds flanked by red/white hearts triangles on yellow strip with dark blue and light blue diagonal stripes between strips on vamp. Southern Arapaho ca. 1885; Ute according to Knoedler inventory. Condition: 4 nail holes through sole, 2 through tongue, 2 through left front corner of cuff. Origin: Original studio collection of artist Frederic S. Remington. Previously mistakenly accessioned into the PIM collection as NA.202.711
