Gloss:
Playwright Augustus Thomas ventured into the medium of sculpture to portray his friend Frederic Remington. Thomas described Remington's studio in Century Magazine: "All four walls of the studio were covered, above doors and windows and in their dead spaces, with military and Indian and Mexican trappings of all descriptions from spurs to war-bonnets . . ." The reconstruction of Remington's studio can be seen at the end of this alcove.
