Chair, medium reddish brown stained wood (cherry?), black leather padded seat. Back uprights have small scrolled tops, crest rail curves and dips and has a carved scallop motif along top; 7 round spindles start in arched lower back rail, go through another straight crosspiece and fan out into lower edge of crest rail; side seat rails are straight, front and back seat rails are slightly curved, front rail has a curved and scrolled apron attached; front legs have turned ball and ridge patterns and taper towards feet, double front stretchers have turned ridges and taper at leg ends, double side and rear stretchers are plain and straight, arched supports in corners formed by rear legs and side seat rails. Seat is black leather with black oil cloth(?) binding tacked around the edges with black headed tacks. Light padding. Plywood seat bottoms with pierced star in circle design. The McCormicks, a pioneer Billings family, had many associations with the W.F. (Buffalo Bill) Cody family both in Billings and at North Platte, NE.
