Lower middle drawer is stamped on left side in black: 209684/176
Desk (A), hardwood (mahogany?) stained/painted dark reddish brown. Three equal sized upper drawers (B,C,D), fold out curved front desk with black grained leather writing surface tacked down with brass studs, long shallow drawer (F) lower center flanked by deeper drawers (E,G), turned and grooved columnar legs with 2 metal support bars from top of leg diagonally to edges of desk. Eight matching drawer pulls of faceted glass with brass hardware. Brass lockplate on inside of desk front, brass hinges and support bars on desk sides. Lower right drawer (G) has an upright divider with a sliding, locking lid over rear two-thirds of drawer. Lower middle drawer is stamped on left side. Drawer construction is narrow dovetails in front and wide dovetails in back. Dimensions: #5-7 are for drawers B,C,D. #8-10 are for drawer F. #11-13 are for drawers E,G. Condition: Poor finish, wood cracked in back and below top drawers. Missing molding. Drawer pulls are not original - lock mechanisms have been chiseled out of lower drawers. Origin: Used by Buffalo Bill in his travels with Wild West Show
