Russell said, "The West we knew . . . is an old woman now but we still love her." Known as dudes, tourists clamored for a taste fo the old West. In Montana they were fascinated by encounters with Charles Russell who enjoyed telling stories, posing for photographs and even twirling women dudes on the dance floor; he knew all the latest steps.
