Remarks:
Edge channeler. Brass headed tool with flat sides. A small blade set in head at a 45 degree angle with screws to adjust block below blade. Brass head attached to stem and round, wooden handle with brass ferrule. Leather tab tacked into bottom of handle. Inscription on brass head and opposite side of head. Embossed in handle. Used to cut diagonal slit in edge of leather. Probably used in harness making. See Gomph catalog, pg 7.
