The Model 1907 self-loading rifle was a slightly enlarged and improved version of the Model 1905. The .351 Winchester self-loading cartridge was developed for this arm to provide higher velocity. The Model 1907 was popular with law enforcement groups and was offered in this configuration (with bayonet lug for US M1892 [Krag] bayonet, large capacity magazine, and sling swivels) only to police departments and penitentiaries. Winchester also sold limited numbers of the Model 1907 to the allies during World War I.
