Remington Model 51 Automatic (semi-automatic) Pistol. ALso called Model 1918. Mfr. 1918-1934; about 65,000 made. Magazine in grip, eight-shot. (also made in .32 cal. (seven-shot). Pocket type pistol. Has a rocker-action friction-delayed blowback action rather than a straight blowback action. Designed by famous gun designer J.D. Pedersen. Considered very streamlined model. In original box. See Automatic Weapons of The World by Melvin M. Johnson and Charles T. Haven.
