Gloss:
The miquelet lock is the most commonly used type in the Mediterranean area, and was also used in Turkey, the Balkans, and as far east as Persia. In these latter areas it remainded popular well into the 19th century.

Remarks:
Stock cracked; missing portion of brass scrolwork from right side of tang.
