Gloss:
Colt Model 1877 Lightning Double Action Revolver. Mfr. 1877 to 1909 (1912 also listed); 166,849 made. Six-shot. Model made in Cab. .38 Colt (the Lightning) and .41 Colt (the Thunderer). The Lightning was Colt's first double action revolver. Most had checkered hard rubber grips; early production had checkered rosewood grips. Barrel and frame similar to the Colt Single Action Army. See #W1793. Mechanism was rather intricate. This specimen full nickel plated. Made without ejector. See #'s P2375 & W1803. Many used in the West.
