|Approximately 4333 Smith & Wesson New Model No. 3 target revolvers were manufactured between 1887 and 1910. Of these, 2920 were .32-44 cal. and 1413 were .38-44 cal. This revolver was used in the W.R.A. Co.'s ballistic laboratory to test ammunition.|
