The Model 1892 was a scaled down version of the Model 1886 and was designed for the popular mid-range calibers of the older Model 1873 (.32/20 W.C.F., .38/40 W.C.F., and .44/40 W.C.F.). Like the Model 1886, the Model 1892 used a double bolt-locking design and featured a fast and smooth lever action. It was tremendously popular in Australia and South America, as well as in the United States.
