Gloss:
Rare, German/Bavarian infringement/copy of Henry rifle. Loading port in underside of magazine 6-3/4 inches from muzzle end. A sleeve 2-3/4 inches long and 3-3/4 inches back from muzzle end of magazine is made to turn on the magazine tube. When the magazine spring and follower have been moved forward into the muzzle end of magazine tube, the sleeve can be turned slightly to one side, locking the follower and spring in the forward position out of the way of the loading port, so that the magazine can be loaded. Several unidentified marks on the barrel. What is said to be the mark of the Royal Bavarian Armory is stamped twice on the right side of the receiver near the front end.
