This is a Remington sporting rifle " New Model No. 4". This arm was made from 1890 to 1933 with over 50,000 being produced. The New Model No. 4 was Remington's smallest and lightest rolling block action rifle.

Remarks:
This particular rifle was purchased by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1931 for ballistics testing.
