Gloss:
The operating lever on this rifle is pivoted to the tang by a link extending rearward. This link raises and lowers a locking block which in turn locks the sliding breech bolt when closed. The rifle loads through the side and ejects from the top of the receiver.

Winchester tag #0234 removed from gun is incorrect.
