Remarks:
Heel shave. Used to shave down the edges of the layers of leather which make up the ground seat of a saddle. Curved steel tool with 2 handles of unequal size. Curved steel blade in center is marked in a circle around a 5-pointed star. Blade is held in place by 2 brass fittings and 2 screws. Square brass fitting on bottom is marked in an oval. These were originally designed for use in shoemaking.
