"If I can by-pass my intellect which seems to demand certain things and deal with the information directly, purple horses do in fact appear and seem to be appropriate." Cattle rancher and artist Theodore Waddell paints range animals in freely-rendered abstractions and heavily textured surfaces. His atmospheric, layered work is an attempt to alter his perception of the world by manipulating color, form, placement, light, materials, and scale.
