Remarks:
Pair of leather leggings, Possibly belonged to Buffalo Bill. Pebble-grained exterior leather dyed dark burnt umber, cut to conform closely to leg shape from instep to mid-thigh, machine stitched flat fell seams front and back. Front outside edge has 12 short leather straps stitched to it which match up with 12 black enameled metal buckles riveted to back outside - front laps over back and buckles adjust for a snug fit; similar strap and buckle fixture at bottom of leggings to hold legging down, Roughout inside is dark golden brown; strap leather is smooth tanned on both sides, insides of straps are dark brown. Circa 1900.
