Remarks:
Pair of leggings numbered (a) and (b). Yellow pigmented tanned hide with slight upward rectangle cut, folded in half with additional hide and seaming at the top. Leather thongs through the hide on the side binds the two sides - mescal seeds added to strips. Cotton cloth ties added at top. Self fringed on both sides of outer seam starting 12" from top. ¼"W beaded onto hide where fringe starts on front and around the bottom unfinished cuff. Light blue background interspersed with red crosses and dark blue boxes. 23"L quillwork strip (newer - not original) on front near outer seam. Red background with 3 stepped mountains in yellow, purple, pink and 3 purple and yellow stacked box designs. Blue hail dots visible on lower leg of left piece (b)- 10 ½" from bottom cuff. "B" piece - left - is lined with maroon calico fabric.
