Man's legging numbered as (a) and (b). Tanned elk hide cut diagonally with incorporated ties, and hanging extra flaps, and all self fringed. Side seamed. Crow style beadwork strips on sides. Human hair and yellow dyed horse hair bundles along bead strips on the seam. 4" W red wool strips with some beadwork and edged in white pony beads around self fringed cuffs. Blue daubs of pigment all along inside (recto & verso) of hide portion - beginning at top of bead strips. 3 ½" W strips are 3 solid rectangles of turquoise blue with 2 interior boxes in diamond design in sky blue, intersected with red line and pink/blue inset, with the perimeter area in dirty yellow, outlined in dark blue& white. Strips are outlined in alternating red, white and green for length of strip. Strips overlap the red wool on the cuff. Bead strips may be embroidered on bison hide.
