Remarks:
Rawhide mallet. Round, wood, handle with rolled rawhide head. Mallet head is a tight 3-1/4" long cylinder. Rawhide end is tacked or nailed down with 2 nails across the top and 2 along the bottom and 2 along sides. Inscription on handle. Used for striking punches, stamp tool, etc. See Osborne catalog #55, pg 26 for similar item.
