Remarks:
Rawhide mallet. round, wood, handle with rolled rawhide head. Mallet head is a tight 3" long cylinder. Rawhide end is tacked or nailed down with 2 nails across the top, 2 along the bottom and one on each side. Inscription on handle. Used for striking punches, stamp tool, etc. See Osborne catalog #55, pg 26 for similar item.
