Goodwin created many notable paintings of the outdoors as illustrations for books, magazines, and advertisements. Made to be used as a poster for the Winchester Repeating Arms Company, Goodwin's painting of mule deer in a snowy landscape celebrates the beauty of the natural world. To improve its appearance and safety, this painting recently received cleaning and conservation treatment.
