Remarks:
Spoke shave. A. Hard, dark wooden handle with sharp, thin metal blade fitted into head facing wood. The blade is anchored into wood by metal legs forced through wood. Wood is very smooth & worn. Leather tab w/slit nailed to base of handle for hanging. B. Leather case wraps around blade of tool & snaps shut with metal snap. Inscription on blade of A. Used to skive leather. Also used by woodworkers. One handle has been cut off. Other handles has saw mark where cut was begun. See Osborne catalog #55, page 40.
