Remarks:
Tanned hide made into headpiece with 20" L that extends past the neck and down to a flap on the back ("helmet style"). Split wool trailer, with punctured hide piece attached to the headpiece, leather through wool to hold the feathers in place. Runs almost length of trailer 20 and 21 eagle each side, wrapped with teal embroidery thread, and orange dyed horse hair at base and on ends of feathers, along with rabbit fur (?) on tip of each feather to hide glue for hair (possible later restoration). Two brass bells, 1/3 way down on the wool, one on either side of wool trailer, are tied through with leather strip, also hold the leather piece on interior to wool cloth exterior. Cap has bison horn on each side of head tied to cap with string of blue and white pony beads, and horn topped with strips of ermine hide overall and yellow dyed horse hair wrapped with sinew. Inside the cap is a folded piece of old painted parfleche, tacked down inside, to stabilize the horns on the exterior and fill out the cap.
