Brain-tanned buffalo, commercial pattern cut with set-on waistband with suspender buttons, 5 button covered front fly with hook and eye at top, slash pockets in front, V'd center back with short 2 pronged clasp belt, bound edge inset back pockets, fringed the full length of side seams which have a 12 button flap opening from the knee down; machine sewn with white and dark yellow threads; blue striped white twill waistband lining with white muslin inner pockets, upper lining with white muslin inner pockets, upper lining (to just below crotch) and fly and leg flap facings; button holes stitched in dark yellow thread; suspender and front fly buttons are 4 hole stamped pot metal, leg flap buttons are brass with rounded tops with federal eagle trailing a banner; machine sewn hide patches-2 lower left rear, 1 top of left leg flap, 1 upper left front, 1 lower right rear, 1 upper right front. Condition: Heavy and stiff but show little wear; excessive added surface dirt. Missing 1 fly button, 2nd from bottom does not match. Missing far left front suspender button and rear suspender buttons. Missing bottom button from right leg flap. Origin: Not identified in the 1967 catalog or 1916 Ogdensburg Public Library catalogue as such but photographic evidence proves these trousers were worn by Calamity Jane.
