Remarks:
Dress and Adornment - Status Symbols and Insignia of Office. War bonnet - made on a light brown felt hat crown; 28 eagle feathers with cut red-dyed fluff feathers at tips and natural breath feathers at bases, bases wrapped in red cloth tied with white string, feathers laced to hat with a white leather thong and connected to each other with a white leather thong through the shaft of each feather about 1/3 of the way from the bottom; sewn on front band of red felt trimmed with a brown ribbon studded with 3 rows of rhinestones, a string of clear sequins is tacked to bottom edge; beaded heart medallion on each side in white, clear red and royal blue seed beads lazy stitch beaded on commercial tanned leather bases; old round campaign-type pin on left side is scraped down to bare metal except at top edge which is white with 4 blue stars.
