Remarks:
Woven wool sash with fringed ends, red background with a diagonal design in cream, pale aqua, royal blue, olive green and yellow; fringe consists of strands of weft yarns braided together for 2 inches then separated into 3 2-ply twisted strands with knotted ends. CONDITION: Overall good condition. Some stains and snags. One section of the edge near the middle has been repaired with maroon yarn. One strand of white fringe has also been repaired with maroon yarn. ORIGIN: Purchased from Robert L. Anderson (Anderson tag attached to sash reads: CM RUSSELL/SASH//GC/202). Believed to have belonged to CM Russell. See also 24.85.1.
